Paradis Cloud

A hobby project

Home, paradise on earth.
Connected to the cloud.

Paradis Cloud is where I connect the small things in my home (cameras, sensors, switches) to a server I run myself, so I can see, understand and look after my home from anywhere.

No deadlines, no targets. It grows when I feel like building.

The plan

The idea is simple: small devices at home talk to my own cloud, and apps on top make the information useful.

  1. At home

ESP32 boards, cameras and sensors that watch and switch things.

  2. Encrypted link

Each device has its own login and speaks MQTT over TLS, nothing travels in the clear.

  3. My cloud

One small server holds the messages, the photos and the history.

  4. Apps

The web app and Node-RED dashboards turn it into something I can use from a phone.

Running now

Camera gallery

The first feature of the app. A photo gallery for my ESP32-CAM, with timelapse and video export, remote "take a photo now", and live camera status.

Sign in to the app

Automation and dashboards

Node-RED listens to the devices, draws live gauges and charts, and sends commands back.

Server health

A light monitoring page for the server: CPU, memory, disk, uptime and certificate expiry.

Safe by default

Logins with roles, optional two-factor, an audit log, HTTPS everywhere and per-device accounts.

Maybe next

Ideas, not promises. I pick whatever sounds fun on the day.

  • Temperature and humidity around the house
  • Switches and lights I can control remotely
  • Door and motion alerts
  • Messages to my phone when something needs attention
  • A helper that tells me what happened in the garden today
  • Water and power usage at a glance

How I build it

Mine

Self-hosted on a small server, so the data stays with me.

Small and calm

One modest server, few moving parts, easy to fix at the weekend.

The code lives on GitHub for anyone curious.
